Where Are Our Tears?

Let me ask you some sobering questions.  When is the last time the cross of Jesus Christ moved you to tears? Can you “survey the wondrous cross, on which the Prince of glory died” and not be overwhelmed by His love and grace? When is the last time you wept over the unavoidable fate of friends and loved ones who refuse to bow the knee to Jesus? Do we not believe that those without Christ are literally one heartbeat from eternal hell? Should that truth not cause us to pray with tears for those who are lost? May God do a fresh work in your heart and mine. May we appreciate more deeply the sacrifice Jesus made to purchase our salvation. May we earnestly intercede for those who have never surrendered their lives to Jesus. Psalm 126:5-6 tells us, “Those who sow in tears shall weep with joyful shouting. He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.”  Now THAT’S REAL HOPE!
