Years ago a friend of mine was talking to me about a scheme to make a lot of money. He said, “Jeff, I know there is nothing wrong with wanting to get rich.” Well, there is nothing wrong with having riches, but there is something very wrong with wanting to get rich. The Bible says, “Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction.” Listen, the answer to your problems is NOT more money. The answer is more of Jesus. Seek Him, trust Him, and obey Him. John the Baptist said, “He must increase, and I must decrease.” Money cannot buy peace and joy and contentment. Only a true and deepening relationship with Jesus can provide those things, regardless of your circumstances. Now that’s REAL HOPE.
