Our Church

Jeff Schreve has served as senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Texarkana, TX since 2003. It is a vibrant congregation with a membership approaching 4,000, filled with people from all backgrounds who have come to find life, love and everlasting hope in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible is the foundation for our beliefs, our lives, and our expressions of worship. We strive to reflect Christ in all we do and work to fulfill the two greatest commandments, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with your entire mind." This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."  On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets" (Matt. 22:37-39).

FBC is a place where you’ll find a visible, powerful sense of the Lord’s presence and be touched by His love as you witness it firsthand through His people.

From His Heart Ministries stands on the shoulders of some visionary members who began the church TV ministry in 1959 broadcasting the Sunday morning worship service to the local community. 

First Baptist Church in Texarkana was recognized in 2010 by the National Religious Broadcasters for this amazing accomplishment. The TV pioneers at the church could never have imagined in 1959 that this fledgling local outreach could become the spark for the formation of From His Heart by Pastor Jeff Schreve. They could have never imagined that this ministry would expand into an international radio and TV ministry. The bold move FBC made over 50 years ago resulted in a tremendous testimony about the rewards of stepping out in faith and believing God for big things.

God has answered the prayers of those who have seen what broadcasting the gospel can do to the millions who can now see and hear who Jesus is and why He loves them so very much.

The messages heard on FHH on radio and TV have been preached by Pastor Jeff Schreve to the congregation of FBC during the Sunday services. And while FBC is our home church, From His Heart Ministries is a separate non-profit organization exclusively supported by donations from viewers and listeners across America. The expense of airtime for the FHH broadcast seen and heard on hundreds of outlets would be difficult to sustain for a congregation of just 4,000 members. FBC does provides other key means of support with office space, volunteers, and prayers … as well as countless intangible ways.
